Are You Ready for Some Football Party Tips?

Railings and handrails

With football season on the horizon there’s no time like the present to get your barbecue gameday ready. Nothing says football Sunday like using outdoor decks and patios for grilling with friends and family. Here are a few ideas to get you started thinking about how to make sure you are getting the most from your outdoor decks design this season.

Make sure that your Deck is Party Ready

Before you invite the gang over for the big game, you want to make sure that your deck is in good working order. Check for any loose boards or jutting nails. Are there any areas that seem to be warping or splintering? If your deck is in need of a new coat of sealant you may want to get it taken care of before it is subjected to a higher amount of foot traffic than normal. If you have any gates and fences connected to your deck make sure that they are functioning properly. There is nothing more annoying than a constantly squeaking fence gate.

Make Sure to Focus Beyond the Deck as Well

If you have a really great party going it will most likely spill over into your yard. Make sure that your yard is adequately mowed and that you have enough lighting to accommodate guests who might want to slink away. Also by adding a few chairs and trashcans you will be able to handle any party spreading that might take place.

Set up different Party Zones

To maximize your party space, try creating different zones throughout your deck. For your guests that are looking to lounge, set chairs to the sides with a few small tables for drinks and plates. For your friends who like to stand and circulate, try to use your railings as bar tops by adding candles, or if your deck does not have railings use tall tables that can be leaned on. The food and refreshments are always an important part of any party so try to either have a central food station or several smaller stations throughout your deck depending on the size.

With a little bit of planning your outdoor decks design can help make any football party a hit.
